Sing Down Selene (Rank 1) Edit

While performing, this Gift allows the Kinfolk or Garou to seem alluring and distracting regardless of their appearance or surroundings. This gift is taught by a Lune, or any spirits of charm and music.

System Edit

As long as the performer continues their performance, any individuals that can hear or see the performer (as appropriate) regard the performer positively and become fascinated by the performance, taking certain penalties to Vigilance and any roll that requires concentration (such as Stealth); these penalties fade once the performance is over. During and after the performance, and until the end of the scene, the mentioned positive regard allows the performer to make all nonthreatening social rolls against the affected individuals at lower difficulties (see chart; minimum reduction to difficulty 3). For this latter effect, the performance must have lasted a meaningful amount of time (a song, soliloquy, etc.). This Gift can not be used during combat or if the targets are being directly threatened.

The player must roll Charisma + Performance at difficulty 6 (or higher, if there are mitigating factors) and spend a Willpower point (or Gnosis point; see below) for the effect to occur, see the below chart for effects. Botching this roll results in a terrible performance with associated penalties; failing this roll results in an average performance. An extra Willpower may be spent to guarantee one success.

If Willpower was spent to active this gift, humans that can hear or see the performer (as appropriate) may make an Integrity or Willpower roll against a difficulty of the performer's Charisma + Performance score to remain unaffected only if they are aware of the effect. Supernaturals may make this roll regardless, or spend a temporary Willpower point to remain completely unaffected.

If Gnosis was spent to activate this gift instead of Willpower, humans that can hear or see the performer (as appropriate) may make a Willpower roll against a difficulty of the performer's Charisma + Performance score to remain unaffected only if they are aware of the effect. A human who succeeds on this roll must then spend Willpower every successive round they continue to hear the performance in order to remain unaffected. Like humans, Supernaturals may make this same Willpower roll only if they are aware of the effect, and then must spend a temporary Willpower point to remain unaffected; alternatively, they may roll every round, instead.

  • Note: The effects of this gift may be avoided entirely if the target can not see/hear the performer.
